And Now the Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Rod Streater Foundation and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Hosts Students from Laurel Wood Elementary for an Aquatic Experience

Monterey, CA, October 28, 2014

Rod Streater continued his “Where’s Streater?” journey, this time inviting 6th grade students from Laurel Wood Elementary (Salinas City Elementary School Dist.) to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Upon arrival, students were treated to a lunch provided by Whole Foods Market Monterey before attending an educational program in the Discovery Lab classroom. Students interacted with live animals and learned from aquarium educators about the science of waves and how coastal animals survive. Following the program, students had the opportunity to explore the aquarium on a self-guided tour, including a visit to the newest special exhibition, “Tentacles: The Astounding Lives of Octopuses, Squids and Cuttlefishes,” along with long-standing favorites such as, “The Jellies Experience,” the octopuses, sea otters: Abby, Gidget, Ivy, Kit and Rosa, and Rod’s favorite ~ the scalloped hammerhead shark! It was a great hands-on learning experience for everyone.
